Inmagic® Genie is a Web-based integrated library system (ILS) designed to meet the expanding needs of information centers that must manage and provide effective access to both traditional and non-traditional library materials. It is well-suited to both single-site libraries, and multi-site libraries that want a single catalog covering multiple collections.
Browser: Minimum supported screen resolution of 1024 X 768.
- PC: Microsoft Internet Explorer
v6+ (v7 recommended) , Firefox v1+ for OPAC users only (v2 recommended)
Server(s):
- Supported operating systems: Windows 2003 Server SP2, Windows 2000 Server SP4, Windows XP PRO SP2+
- Supported Databases: MS SQL Server 2000 SP4, MS SQL Server 2005 (SP2 or later recommended), MS SQL Server 2000 Desktop Edition (MSDE) SP3a+, SQL Server Express Edition
- Software: Inmagic Content Server v9.0 SP1 or later, v10.0 SP1 or later recommended (both CS/WebPublisher PRO and CS/TextWorks)
- Application/Web Server Requirements: Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0, E-mail server (optional)

The following issues are addressed by this version. The applicable
Inmagic Software Problem Report (SPR) number follows each item listed.
- Printing: The PageBreak="true" MyReports.config option now works properly on Internet Explorer 7.0, when printing a report where each Borrower or Order is supposed to be on a separate page [4966]
- My Genie (OPAC): The E-mail link now is hidden until the user has logged in [5366]
- Reports: Issue if a printing report appeared first in the drop-down list [5403]
- About Genie: Supports MyGenie.css for customization of styles [5472]
- Security: "Create item record for new issue" link on Edit Serial Record page should not appear for Staff logins [5474]
- Generate Items: Could not Close window if Edit Catalog Record page omitted box for Location field [5734]
- Security: Addressed issue with [Browse] link for Borrower field [5883]
- Genie Help will not open (introduced in SP2) [5292]
- When reporting errors in a .Config file, include the file name, possible
unless the entire file fails to load [1811]
- .Net error editing items when CatLocation field has duplicate entries [5413]
- Corrected "Add New Catalog Item" breadcrumb to say "Add New Catalog Record" [5293]
This version has the following known issues, which will be addressed in a future
service pack or version. The applicable Inmagic Software Problem Report (SPR) number
follows each item listed.
- For multilingual sites, CS/WebPublisher PRO error messages returned on Edit and Full Display
pages are always in English; they do not use the specified language [5448]
- InmagicBrowse: Firefox initially shows extended characters in field-name drop-down
lists as 2-byte characters; navigating away from the query screen corrects the problem
for the rest of the browser session [5600]

copies of the documentation set when you installed the software. You will find them
in the Documentation subfolder of the install folder.
- Installation notes for new & upgrade installations. The document InmagicGenieInstallNotes.pdf describes how to install or upgrade the application.
- Technical Notes. InmagicGenieTechnicalNotes.pdf describes how to configure Genie screens, menus, etc.
- Security Notes. InmagicGenieSecurityNotes.pdf describes how to manage security, login, and password information in Genie.
- Online Help. The online help covers the Genie Web application and some administrative tasks. The help documentation is always available within Genie by choosing Other>Help Topics from the menu.
