Inmagic^® Genie v3.6 Service Pack 1 README

This service pack is available for all clients running Inmagic^® Genie v3.6.

Items Addressed in This Release

• Edit Order – Resolved issues when performing Next/Previous navigation and clicking Edit links in Search Results [7807, 7714]
• Logging – Removed unnecessary logging of benign messages [7808]
• Batch Modify – Resolved issue with missing images [7812]
• Reverse Proxy – Resolved known issues; see Support Knowledgebase article 3033 for instructions on using a new .Config file setting. [7816]
• Windows 2012 R2 support (Requires WebPublisher PRO v14.5 SP1) - Note: If using WebPublisher PRO (non-SQL), see Support Knowledgebase article 3032 for instructions on correcting the .iwx handler mapping in IIS.
• Internet Explorer 11 support

Installation

To install Genie v3.6 Service Pack 1, perform the following tasks:

1. Stop the IIS Admin Service.

   Important! No one should be using Genie while the update is being applied.

2. Unzip the Service Pack files into a folder outside of the Genie installation folder on the Genie application server.

3. Double-click the file UpdateGenieSerialNumber.exe, and follow the instructions.

4. Copy the Genie.DLL file into the bin subfolder of the Genie installation folder (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Inmagic\Genie\bin).

5. Copy the ReportControl.ascx file into the UserControl subfolder of the Genie installation folder (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Inmagic\Genie\UserControl).

6. Start IIS (e.g., run IISRESET).

7. Log into Genie, and verify your serial number is displayed when you open the About Genie pop-up.
